Gibson
Faithful Friend, Goofy Soul, Gentle Giant — and Forever a Member of Our Family
2013 – 2025
Gibson, our beloved Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, passed away peacefully at the age of 12 after a life filled with joy, loyalty, and laughter.
He was the best hiking partner anyone could ask for—steadfast on the trail, happy in the moment, and always ready for one more mile (or snack). Snowy days were his favorite, when he could romp like a puppy again. Gibson had his quirks: he was inexplicably afraid of puppies and the sound of kibble in metal bowls. But he faced the rest of life with fearless joy—especially when it came to stealing food, playing chase, barking at people walking up the stairs, or indulging in his guilty pleasure: rabbit poop.
Never one to let brains get in the way of heart, what he lacked in intelligence, he more than made up for in sweetness. He loved everyone he met, greeting strangers as old friends and family as his favorite people in the world.
Gibson loved fist bumps, long naps, and being near his people. He filled our home with warmth, laughter, and fur—so much fur—and our hearts with love that will linger long after the pawprints have faded.
Run free, sweet Gibson. You were a good boy, through and through.
