Our beloved, Petty went home to Jesus in heaven at 3 PM, Monday, February 16, 2026. Petty lived a long, wonderful life of 19 years. Petty was born in the Summer of 2007. He was the most loving Jack Russell, always ready for snuggles and would lick your face so much expressing his love. Petty was loved by all of his family. He was our miracle dog. In his youth, he had so much energy and would jump high into the air, and loved to run. He was so fast! He loved to eat food! He would never skip a meal, and loved when special treats were offered. Petty loved any type of food, meat, bacon, and doggie treats. He would always finish his meal and walk over to try to steal his sisters’ food. His sniffer never stopped working. He loved a treat surprise when he was sleeping, we would put a treat right by his nose. He would smell it and wake up so excited, ready to eat what was placed in front of him. When we entered the room, he would sniff and get excited ready to be loved on by his owners, even in his older age. He was one of the most loving dogs we have ever known. Petty was always right by your side, such a loyal friend and companion. Petty also had the biggest personality! If he was upset, he would turn his back to you and huff if you didn’t give him what he wanted, usually he wanted a treat or pets. We would laugh so hard and try to console him. He loved to be warm either by the fireplace or laying out in the sunshine. He loved when you put a blankie in the dryer to warm it up and place it on him. Petty loved to go on walks. Even as he was older and would get tired easily, his dad would happily carry him through our walking journeys. He loved car rides and to sniff new smells. He was such a wonderful dog. We are so blessed to have had Petty in our lives for the time we did. We will miss him dearly. We cannot wait to be reunited with him in Heaven. We love you, Petty!
